Cherokee High School

Several of our Cherokee High School Fire Science students participated in a 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb, honoring the lives lost on September 11, 2001. They climbed 110 stories, representing the floors of the World Trade Center towers and the journey firefighters made as they climbed upward to rescue those trapped inside. Each student was given the name and photograph of a fallen firefighter to carry with them, walking every step in that firefighter’s honor. For our future firefighters, this was more than a climb. It was a reminder of the courage, sacrifice, and selflessness of those who answered the call that day. 110 stories. Every step in honor. Homecoming Pep Rally 2026 ❤️🖤

Students & Parents - today will be the last day to purchase 2026-2027 parking passes for students who are already driving to school. The original deadline to purchase a parking pass has been extended for students twice thus far. Students who get their license and a car throughout the school year, can purchase passes when needed. Students need to show drivers license, registration, and proof of insurance at time of purchase. Passes are $10

The 2026-2027 Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) class is preparing to attend clinical as part of a Work Based Learning opportunity. Grace Maguire, Annika Sexton, and Maggie Jones have been working diligently to prepare for their journey in healthcare at Ballad Health. These students will begin clinical in September to gain experience in preparation for their certification exam in May 2027.

TCAT Morristown and Hawkins County Schools are partnering to create a stronger pathway for students interested in healthcare careers. The partnership connects what students learn in high school with college-level training and ultimately with healthcare jobs available in our region. Through the initiative, Hawkins County students will have access to advanced healthcare training equipment at Cherokee and Volunteer High Schools, hands-on career exploration and work-based learning experiences, and potential dual enrollment opportunities in Pre-Practical Nursing. The partnership also establishes a new TCAT Morristown Practical Nursing program in Hawkins County, giving students a local option to continue their training and become Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs). The Anatomage table is an example of the advanced training equipment now available at Cherokee High School. The health science CTE department has been able to utilize the newly acquired Anatomage Table to help the CCMA students learn about Anatomy and Physiology as well as learn how to perform Intramuscular Injections. Cherokee High School Culinary joined forces with 6 other East Tennessee high schools to cater the Education to Employment conference. This wonderful experience allowed students to showcase their talent, skill, and professionalism while providing delicious food to the industry leaders who provide career opportunities for students.

A HUGE shoutout to our amazing Cherokee High School students from TSA, SkillsUSA, and FCCLA! 👏👏 These students worked incredibly hard to make our CTE booth look absolutely AMAZING, and we couldn’t be prouder of them! ❤️💙 And the hard work is already paying off—we took home TONS of ribbons representing the talent, creativity, and dedication of our Cherokee students! 🏆🎉 We invite everyone to come out starting Sunday and check out the CTE booth and see all the incredible work our students have put into it!
