ROGERSVILLE — The Cherokee High School Navy Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps academic team has advanced to the semifinals of the College Options Foundation JROTC Leadership & Academic Bowl.
The team participated in the Division Two Level one competition on Nov. 18, 2022. Teams are put into divisions based on demographic information.
A total of 530 teams were involved in this year’s competition. However, in Division Two, only 33 teams, including Cherokee, advanced to Level Two. The Level Two competition will take place online throughout the month of February and will determine the eight teams moving on to the finals.
The final competition will be held in June 2023 in Washington, D.C. A total of eight teams will advance to the finals, including two from Division One, two from Division Two and four from Division Three.
