Career Dress Up Day pictures! I loved learning what all our students want to be when they grow up!

Parents,
I will be hosting two Coffee with the Counselor events in the upcoming weeks. The first will be this Thursday, October 24th and the next will be Thursday, November 14th. Both will be from 7:30-8:30. These are Parent Advisory Board events. I will be sharing aspects of the school counseling program at St. Clair and seeking your feedback. I hope to see you there. Please let me know if you are planning to attend, so that I have an idea of how many people to expect. You can message me on Rooms or email me (amanda.barker@hck12.net).

Here are a few pictures from our House Lunches today. 💙💚❤️🖤 Altruismo got a special treat for being point leaders.

Tomorrow is the final day of College and Career Week, and it is Career dress up day. Students, faculty, and staff can dress up as their dream job.

Here are some pictures from our "Your Future is Bright" day.

Parents,
Tomorrow is College Shirt day for College and Career Week. Students can wear a college shirt or college colors. For a family activity, look up a few different college websites and find out what their mascot and school colors are. You can talk with your students about if they think they would enjoy moving to another state for college or staying in Tennessee. Thank you so much for your participation.

Hello Families,
I would like to let you all know that we have food, holiday help, clothes and other resources available to our families. We are blessed to have help from area churches as well as other community programs. It is not always easy to know who needs help. Please, please, please contact me if your family has in needs that are going unmet. Contact me on Rooms or at amanda.barker@hck12.net. You may also call the school if you are unable to use those contact methods.

Parents,
We are picking our College and Career Week back up! Tomorrow is "Your Future is Bright" day. Students and staff will be wearing bright colors and sunglasses. To participate with us, consider talking to your students about your hopes and dreams for their future. What can you see them doing as a career?
Upcoming Dress Up days:
Thursday - College Day
Friday- Career Dress Up

College and career week will kick off next Wednesday. Help us celebrate by participating in dress up days and car ride conversations. Or you can strike up a conversation with your kiddo about anything career or college related and it doesn't have to be in the car. I can't wait to see everyone dressed up as their career of choice on the last day! We will be sure to take lots of pictures.

Hello St. Clair Families! Just a reminder that EVERYONE needs to get logged into skyward and complete your student verification. This is how you enroll your student for the current school year. This needs to be done ASAP! This is where we get bus shop, school and needed information from your child. Please get this completed!

The Hawkins County Board of Education will have a Town Hall Meeting on Friday, August 9, 2024 at 5:30 pm in the gym at Surgoinsville Middle School.
Topic: The New Bus Routing System

Parents, please know that while we realign bus routes and move to our new routing system, we need your help and patience. This has been a three-year process. All student data we had in our student information system during the summer was used to identify routes and assign drivers. However, as you know, the new school year always brings changes to addresses, phone numbers, late enrollees, and drop off and pick up changes. Please remember, all routes are arranged with priority placed on student safety and route efficiency. Per Board Policy 3.401, “students living within three-tenths (.3) of a mile to an established bus route will be required to walk to said route.” Please call the transportation department with any concerns, questions, or to updates to any student information, especially any address or contact information changes. Our transportation department number is 423-272-7629, ext. 2501 and 2502. Also, please refer the transportation link for updated information: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1qe82NJf2oF-6188fUIQzcSnW0JyRHzGtWywlCwxcESA/edit?gid=0#gid=0

Parents and guardians, we will be fully enforcing our cell phone expectations, particularly at the high school level this school year, beginning August 5. As a reminder, we did not allow cell phone use in classrooms last year. This year, we will move to not allow cell phones to be used during school. This is in accordance with Board Policy 6.312, which states, “Middle school students’ cell phones and other electronic devices are to be turned off and not visible upon a student’s arrival to school (upon entering the school building) until the end of the student’s school day. High school students are not permitted to use cell phones during or between classes unless it is for academic purposes, under direct supervision of a classroom teacher.” Thank you for your understanding and support.

Hawkins County teachers kicked off the new school year at the 2024-2025 HCS General Meeting!

We are so excited to have these fantastic teachers join the Hawkins County School District family!! Our new teachers were treated to a delicious Bull Babies breakfast (courtesy of HCEA/Quinn Kersey) to get the New Teacher Orientation started off right. The day was filled with exemplary teachers sharing a wealth of information to help our newest teachers have a successful year. HCS is blessed with the best!
